About the project

In anticipation of the 2022 Honolulu Triennial, I worked collaboratively with the TOQA Team and Hiraya Design Studio to sketch, design, and build a custom website using Shopify’s theme builder. In addition to developing the e-commerce experience, I helped install the immersive “blockbuster” experience in Foster Botanical Garden.

The collection and design of the website took inspiration from early 2000’s movies and video games like Lion King DVD Walkthrough, Tarzan Playstation Longplay, and Tony Hawk the Game. The words we hoped to conjure: sci-fi, animals, escapism, movement.

We wanted to create a new type of immersive online shopping experience that encouraged customers to explore, escape, and play.
