About the project

Tutuvi Tutuvi Tutuvi is a project celebrating the vision, spirit and legacy of Colleen Kimura’s Tutuvi brand and her friends, collaborators, and community. There are three components to this project: a fashion show, film, and publication. All photos below taken by Daniel Croix.

A theatrical fashion show was held in August 2024 which aimed to showcase and reimagine the entirety of Tutuvi’s legacy. Produced by a multigenerational team of creatives, the show featured garments from Tutuvi’s archive, as well as past and newly designed collaborations with Reise Kochi, Aiala Rickard, Marika Emi, Bete Mu'u, Rumi Murakami, Toqa, and Taiji Terasaki. It also involved projections and sound design headed by Alec Singer, as well as models drawn from the collaborators’ network.
